I sometimes get my NEEDS and my WANTS confused. Do you ever do that? Right now I'm back to needing one of my long time wants...a vintage Singer Featherweight sewing machine. I've wanted one of these little beauties for close to 10 years now. Several of my quilting friends have them. In fact, they not only have one but a couple of them have several...one in each color or style. For example, one friend has both the striated plated AND scroll plated 221, while another friend has all three colors of black, white and the rarer celery white. Is it really necessary for them to flaunt this... :0) Oh, I really don't care. If it weren't for them I probably would never have taken up quilting or even learned about the darling little featherweight to begin with.
So, I'm on a hunt for the perfect little machine. I've been watching a few auctions on Ebay. I've also been reading up on them...a bit interesting featherweight history. There's a lot of information on the web about them if you so desire to take a peek. I'd really like to find one in my local area that I could actually touch before buying but it is very rare to find one here and if/when you do they are gone...woooooosh like the wind. So if you know of anyone selling a very well cared for, smooth running Singer Featherweight 221 or 222 (that would be the cat's meow)...let me know...I may be interested. ;o)

Rose Vine Birdhouse
Oh geez, it's been almost a month already since I last posted. Boy does time fly. I need to get on the stick here and be better about this blogging thing.
Remember those birdhouses from last July when my housemates niece's & nephew were here? Probably not, huh? :o) We had a few birdhouses left over that didn't' quite make the grade and were sent to the "we'll deal with you later box" in the garage. The weather has taken a turn for the worse and so I decided to drag one out and decorate it up.
I took some fabric left over from a quilt I made a long time ago...sadly enough I can't even remember what it looks like...and quilted around the roses, leaves and vines. I took some tanish fabric and made it to hopefully resemble fen
cing or perhaps the very top of trellis...whatever your eye says. I then covered all the material with Mod Podge for Fabric and there you go...a rose vine covered birdhouse.

So far it's has, once again, quilted gingerbread girls and boys dancing around the base...that's all I'm revealing. I'm busy with the rest still...giggle, giggle.
Warmest Birdy Hugs,
